FOSDEM 2020 Open Source Design organisation

What are the slides referred to in the 3rd item in the above list? Do we have them for this year?

This may be referring to the slides we used to introduce the community. I think @ei8fdb should have them. If that refers to someting different, @evalica might know, since I think she put together that list initially.

From the link it looks like there used to be a section for “talks” on our website, but it doesn’t exist any more. Maybe we should add a “Talks” section to the Resources page and just link to our devroom pages in the FOSDEM website (e.g. FOSDEM 2017 - Open Source Design devroom)

I started putting together the article and wanted to check-in if this format looks good to everyone.

Posting it on a wiki so feel free to edit away.

A fact-check if I got OSD related details correct would be very helpful.
Any other comments you may have, please let me know.

If it looks good I’ll fill in the details for the remaining talks and hoping to put it up by this weekend!

I can’t see anything incorrect here and it looks good to me

Would love to see this on the main OSD website!

Also FYI folks watching this thread, I sent an email to the FOSDEM organisers asking if they have a problem with any of the videos being on a youtube account IF the speakers agree to be on youtube. Will let folks know when I hear back.

so things that need finishing from the list:

  • [ ] Open Source Design Devroom picture | example | Deadline: 4-5 Feb I think @evalica or @ei8fdb might have a photo?

  • [X] Create FOSDEM 2020 slides folder on opensourcedesign Github example 1 | Deadline: 1 Mar
I sent two pull requests, one for a .md file for an index of the talks in the room (like on your article @amit.lzkpa would you be okay If I copy-pasted your article/wiki into this .md file?) and one for creating a folder.

  • [ ] Submit talks slides on opensourcedesign GitHub| example | Deadline: 1 Mar
I’m happy to grab slides from the fosdem website and upload them

  • [ ] Write post event article on opensourcedesign.net | Deadline: 1 Mar
Looks like @amit.lzkpa’s article just needs to be approved by other @core-group members for this to get added onto the website

  • [ ] Provide a link to the video recordings | example | Deadline: 31 Jul

This one needs to wait for the email back from Fosdem and the @core-group need to give their Yes/No to creating a ‘Open Source Design’ youtube channel and uploading there to make a playlist. If folks can give a yes/no here that’d be great. If Youtube is a no-go we can post links to the Fosdem hosted videos, it just means folks can’t watch them all in a playlist.

I don’t have a photo for FOSDEM 2020 (except one from the back with the room), but at the end of the DevRoom, we did one with the people remaining the room. Not sure with what camera. @ei8fdb , do you know? Anyway, we have a place on GitHub where we can put the photos. The idea was to replace the Twitter cover with more recent photos, but if there are fewer participants or if we can find the photo, we can keep the current one cover from 2017, pinned tweet from 2018.
