Help needed for a research project about open source usability

Dear open source designers,

If you have 30min to spare and want to earn $8 (CAD), please consider contributing to our survey aimed to understand how (and later support) open source communities address usability issues:

https://surveys.mcgill.ca/ls/159448

We are researchers from Polytechnique Montreal and McGill University (led by Prof. Jinghui Cheng http://jhcheng.me and Prof. Jin Guo http://jguo-web.com), who are investigating tools to support software practitioners to consider and address user centered design and usability in open source application software projects. This survey serves as the first step for us to understand the needs and challenges of the designers, developers, and other members of open source communities.

In the survey, we will ask questions about your general involvement in open source projects, as well as your perception and practice in approaching usability of open source applications. Your information and identity will be kept confidential.

Again, the survey will take about 30 minutes to complete. You will receive a $8 (Canadian Dollar) compensation if you complete the survey and carefully answer all required questions (including the open-ended questions).

If you’d like to participate, please follow this link:

https://surveys.mcgill.ca/ls/159448

Additionally, we would appreciate you passing the survey link to your coworkers and friends who have participated in open source application software projects.

If you have any questions about the study, please don’t hesitate to contact me at jinghui.cheng@polymtl.ca. Any comment is also much welcomed.

Thank you very much for your time!
