- Domain: Moving it:
- Costly atm., potentially move to netim.
- Sharing system (having secondary accounts) would be great, they work on it.
- Are there abstract entities to take the domain? It has to be sure that the org is reliable, trustworthy and creating our own org is a lot of overhead.
- Open Collective can’t hold domains.
- On Github one can now name heirs to your account.
- Governance work for OSD updates!
- Progressing…
- Website updates
- Busy with new jobs and hugo/npm/tailwind skills needed.
- Jan tries to set up a minimal hugo install to try out information architecture and swap theme to an more advanced one later. Sadly too many themes are pretty advanced.
- Using AI to help us to get some start in hugo.
- What should OSD focus on in the future

August 5th Agenda: (Post is wikified)
- Should we get Migadu for outgoing mails, particularly sending notification mails for github issue Email / other notification sends when job is approved? (see core conversation @AnXh3L0, @jan @jdittrich on 4th of July)
Notes from August 5th call:
- New websites features: Now implemented in Hugo. Read the readme. Different forms via cloudflare workers, features of jobs and events.
What can you do? File issues!- Just try the website. There are some things that don’t make sense yet, because they taken from the old website; some text might be to wordy or missing etc.
- If you have an event or job to post, make notes if the forms make sense for you!
- If you want to know how to change the code, @AnXh3L0 @SaptakS and @jdittrich (and maybe some more) can answer questions.
- Some small progress on @jdittrich s Wireframing tool.
- Try to create a simple wireframe! Does it work for you? What is missing? What feels right and what feels wrong in interaction?
- Feedback via mail, mastodon or in an issue on github
- Jan can answer questions about code and architecture
- Thunderbirds Design System Bolt, is implemented using vue.js. Curious about: How is this governed?
@jdittrich can you please always include time with the date of the next meeting agenda (you now write only date). I missed a meeting for an hour, I don’t know how I managed to write in my calendar that meeting starts at 20h. It’s totally my fault, just a small suggestion…
@nikola I recommend just subscribing to the calendar we created for the events, it’s linked on the monthly call page
Open Source Design monthly call | Open Source Design
Please note: the shared calendar does not include a notification.
In some cases, when importing or subscribing a network calendar, the notifications cannot be changed (added/modified/deleted).
In my case, I will miss all meetings without a notification, but I was able to make a local copy and added the notification.
Topics from September 2nd Call:
- Website updates and issues
- Core group organizing
- Experiences with standards and guidelines (maybe), Jan could say something about Libreoffice contribs, Pocketbase, Tcl/tk book got a 4th ed!

- (not) changing icons for standard features
- That saving is broken (See Alan Cooper’s about face for some alternative suggestions)
- Office programs, their UIs and what might be the current UI paradigms that replace both toolbar/menu and ribbon UIs.
