Jobs - Material design including logo and assets

(Elio Qoshi) #9

No, not taking on UX here.

Is there any update or does anyone need any info from my side? Just checking since it’s silent here. Please let me know if you need anything.

Hi @sriram,
Any idea for a new name for the organization or are we keeping it “Blood Donation”?

(Sriram Sureshkumar) #12

Hi @ergish, at the moment I do not have any names, but open for suggestions. If it’s going to make it better.

(Ergi Shkëlzeni) #13

I was thinking of some random name alternatives:

1 “AOBAB” - like A, 0, B and AB types of blood
2 “Pulse”
3 “Red+”
4 “1Up”

“Blood Donation” can always stay as a tagline. Let me know what you think or if you have any other idea about the name so I can start designing some logo options for your project.

(Elio Qoshi) #14

I think these names are a good start! I’d think about refining them a bit more to be a bit more specific.

Some suggestions from me:

Abzero
Pulse Help

However I’d prefer ‘Rufus’ which means red in Latin, but in more of a healthy skin color red like ruddy. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ruddy

What do you think @sriram @ergish ?

(Ergi Shkëlzeni) #15

Great! For me the names are perfectly ok. I prefer Abzero and Rufus.

(Anxhelo Lushka) #16

I think people might confuse it if we go for “Rufus”, since there’s a popular software called like that.
https://rufus.ie/
I like Abzero though.

(Elio Qoshi) #17

I don’t think that’s any problem at all. That project does bootable USB images. This one does something completely different. But if in doubt, Rufus+ could work.

(Sriram Sureshkumar) #18

While I like the idea behind Rufus, I also feel people would confuse between the app Rufus and this. But if we do not get anything else then I would go for Rufus+.

How do you think the below sound,
metahuman.red
bubble.red

I’d suggest avoiding using domain names into a brand

Rufus+ sounds like a good option to me.

(Ergi Shkëlzeni) #20

In my opinion “metahuman” would be a bit confusing as a name, it gets you in a different direction and on the other side “bubble” is catchy and playful, but maybe it sound more playful than it should.
I would go for Rufus+.

(Elio Qoshi) #21

bubble.red was also too much Red Bubble in my opinion: http://redbubble.com/

(Sriram Sureshkumar) #22

I agree, let’s go with Rufus+

(Ergi Shkëlzeni) #23

@sriram

I’m attaching a file with 4 logo proposals for Rufus+ that @elioqoshi and I worked on.
Please check them out and let us know about your thoughts on it.

(Sriram Sureshkumar) #24

Thanks for sharing, looks awesome. I like the first one since it is simpler and straightforward.

Here are my thoughts,

  • Would we be able to combine a “drop and heart” like how we have combined “heart and plus” - since Rufus+ also has a plus in it
  • I liked the way the + is positioned in option 3, can we use that in option 1
  • I liked the color palette of option 2, can we use that in option 1

Sorry if it feels like mixing options, but just writing what i feel.
Please feel free to let me know if this would not work.

Hey Sriram,

We might not be able to dedicate more revisions on this work so seeing what works might be best at this point.

Would we be able to combine a “drop and heart” like how we have combined “heart and plus” - since Rufus+ also has a plus in it

I don’t think a drop and a plus could work well as it would be a quite tall icon, and ideally it should be in a 1:1 ration. The heart and + are quite straightforward I think.

  • I liked the way the + is positioned in option 3, can we use that in option 1
  • I liked the color palette of option 2, can we use that in option 1

Sure, we can do that. That makes sense.

(Sriram Sureshkumar) #26

Sure @elioqoshi, I understand and appreciate the time you and @ergish have invested to help me build this. The first logo with the changes in positioning ‘+’ and the color palette works for me

Thank you so much for your contribution.

@sriram
You can download the final version of the logo from this link:

Thank You, it has been a pleasure working with this project!

Good luck with the project @sriram!
