# How could I contribute in Open Source Design?

1. What are the benefits to be an Open Source Contributor?
2. How could one become an Open Source Contributor here?
3. what is the future of Design and Designers?
4. And the final one, how to contribute with Open Source Design?

Hello Bipin,

It depends – some people do it for fun, some because they like the people who contribute, others because they want to apply their skills and learn, or because they think it is ethical to support open source software. Some of us also work on open source software in our jobs.

I put these two together, since the answers are the same. At opensourcedesign you could [contribute to the website](https://github.com/opensourcedesign/opensourcedesign.github.io). However, many things we do, are in other open source projects. Some possibilities to contribute are in the [jobs section](https://discourse.opensourcedesign.net/c/job-postings/19).

1. The benefits include career growth, job opportunity, experience working with a team or collaborating remotely.
2. How to become an Open source contributor
a. Talk about it
b. Find any design project on GitHub - create an issue, discuss with the maintainer, fork the repository and make a Pull request.
3. Design is evolving and becoming more relevant in tech industry.
4. To contribute to open source design you have to know how to use Version control system (Git) or Terminal/Command line and Github
